Are you thinking of going for off-road bicycling and are wondering what to carry for the epic trip? The plug kit will save you when you when you rip your tyres, and you cannot use a plug to fill it. A tube is essential for fixing your wheels, in case they need to be changed.
Food and Water
In the excitement of leaving the house, you may think you will not need to eat. The unexpected might happen, and you may end up spending more time off-road than you imagined. Always carry a snack which is rich in glucose to keep your energy up. You should also keep well hydrated by drinking more water so that you do not get signs of dehydration.
Even if the weather is warmer when you are leaving the house, resist the temptation of wearing light clothes, and going for your ride without a jacket. You can develop a chest infection, and the ride back home will be extremely uncomfortable.
Spare Derailleur Cable
A spare derailleur cable is light and easy to carry. Just knowing that you have it, and can be able to change it, in case your bike develops a mechanical problem, will make the travel safer. Remember to carry all your essentials, but try to keep your luggage light, so that it does not derail you.
