Mountain biking is not as simply as riding a bike and getting into the sport. It requires a lot of techniques like strength, skill and grit. You need to be serious and spend years to train their tricks. If you want to master mountain biking you need to practice really hard and choose the right bike.
First and formost, you need to buy a bike. You need to afford mountain bikes which costs about $300 minimum and $5,000 maximum. There are expensive bikes made of high-quality materials such as premium-grade steel or aluminum which are designed for professional riders, offering more accessories and abilities.
Regarding the locations you ride, there are several different styles of mountain bikes:
- Cross-country bikes (XC bikes) are great for smooth routes with scoping hills because they are efficient and lightweight. but they should be rarely used to ride on really rough terrain. XC mountain bikes designed with softer sustension can handle bigger obstacles.
- All-mountain bikes are heavier than cross-country bikes. They can climb hills easier and tackle rough terrain better.

There are two kinds of mountain bikes’ suspension which help to protect the bikes and the riders from rough terrain shocks:
- Full suspension bikes are heavier, more comfortable and easier to control than hardtail bikes. They have both front and rear suspension.
- Hardtail bikes are lighter and pedal more efficiently than full suspension. They have no rear suspension but a front suspension fork. They’re durable for riding off-road.
